Char Dham Yatra Opening and Closing Dates 2025

The Official Opening Date and Closing Date of Char Dham Yatra in 2025 are as follows:-

  • Kedarnath Temple: Opens on 02 May 2025, Closes on 23 October 2025.
  • Gangotri Temple: Opens on 30 April 2025, Closes on 22 October 2025.
  • Yamunotri Temple: Opens on 30 April 2025, Closes on 23 October 2025.
  • Badrinath Temple: Opens on 04 May 2025, Closes on 6 November 2025.

Note: These dates are completely based on Hindu Panchang so there may be slight modifications. The Yatra will remain open till the temple closes in winter.

Registration Process for Char Dham Yatra 2025

You can Register for Char Dham Yatra 2025 both online and offline. The Online Registration process will cover 60% of the total slots, while the offline registration will cover 40% of the total slots.

The Offline registration for Char Dham Yatra will open 24 hours a day for the First  Days. After this timings may change according to the demand and conditions. To Facilitate the Registration process, 20 centers will be set up in Haridwar and Rishikesh, along with 15 counters to be open in Vikasnagar. Also, pilgrims who want to go on Char Dham Yatra can register through the official government portal at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, starting from March 1, 2025.

Details of the Four Shrines of Char Dham Yatra

1. Yamunotri Temple

Yamunotri Temple is located in Uttarkashi district, and is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. It marks the source of Yamuna River. This temple was built Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. You need to trek for 6 Kilometers from Janki Chatti to reach the temple and seek blessings.

2. Gangotri Temple

The Temple is dedicated to River Ganga, and it marks the source of River Ganga. The Gangotri Temple is situated at an altitude of about 3,048 meters. It is one of the highest temples which is devoted to Goddess Ganga. The temple is completely surrounded by Himalayan landscapes and holds spiritual significance.

3. Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath Temple is one the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, which is located at an altitude of 3584 meters. It is one of the most sacred temples in Hinduism. According to history this temple was built by Pandavas, and later Adi Shankaracharya renovated it.

4. Badrinath Temple

Badrinath Temple is situated in himalayas which is dedicated to lord Badrinarayan, a form of Lord Vishnu. The temple has a black stone idol of 3.3 feet that dates back to the vedic age. The structure of this temple has undergone renovations multiple times, but the inner sanctum has remained unchanged since the ninth century.
